  • Base salary: $55,000–65,000

  • Average tip-pool share: approximately $6,000–$10,000 annually

Red Robin Surrey is looking for a hands-on Restaurant Assistant Manager to help lead a high-volume, full-service restaurant.

In this role, you will lead busy shifts, coach and develop team members, support day-to-day restaurant operations, and help drive strong guest experiences and business results.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Shift Leader, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or other restaurant leader who is ready for greater responsibility, stronger earning potential, and a clear development path toward becoming a Restaurant Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

LEAD AND DEVELOP THE TEAM

  • Help lead and support a restaurant team of 75–100 team members

  • Coach, train, and develop shift leaders and team members

  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable

  • Build a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture

  • Lead from the floor and provide visible support during busy shifts

DELIVER AN EXCELLENT GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Create a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest

  • Respond to guest concerns quickly and professionally

  • Support consistent hospitality and service standards

  • Ensure guest feedback is addressed and used to improve performance

MANAGE RESTAURANT OPERATIONS

  • Lead opening, closing, and peak-volume shifts

  • Support scheduling, labour management, and daily staffing decisions

  • Maintain food-quality, safety, cleanliness, and execution standards

  • Help ensure restaurant policies and operating procedures are followed

  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and other members of the leadership team

DRIVE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

  • Monitor key restaurant performance metrics

  • Help manage labour, costs, sales, and profitability

  • Support local marketing initiatives and promotional programs

  • Identify opportunities to improve operations and the guest experience

  • Help the restaurant achieve its sales and performance goals

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least one year of restaurant leadership experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Leader, Supervisor, or similar position

  • Experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant is strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills

  • A hands-on management style and willingness to lead from the floor

  • Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong commitment to hospitality, food quality, and team development

  • Availability to work a flexible full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
