Project Manager (Electrical/Controls)

Remote**, British Columbia**

Our Project Managers (Electrical/Controls) develop and implement controls solutions to optimize production processes, improve plant safety, enhance product quality, and increase production throughput. Project Managers are responsible for controls standards, PLC/HMI programming, equipment commissioning, historian maintenance, troubleshooting of control system issues, as well as project support. We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager (Electrical/Controls) to join our operational divisions across Western Canada. This is a remote role. Travel to our manufacturing sites is required between 25%-50% of the time.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical/engineering discipline.
  • Professional certification as an Engineer or Technologist.
  • Professional certification as a Project Management Professional.
  • 5+ years of experience in forest products manufacturing.
  • Experience as technical lead on multiple medium to large sized projects;
  • Extensive experience with:
    • Visualization systems (HMIs);
    • Industrial programming: ladder logic, function block, structured text;
    • Motion control: hydraulic, electric;
    • Motor control: Variable frequency drives, soft starters, smart overloads;
    • Industrial networking: Ethernet, DeviceNet;
    • Microsoft Project.

In this role, you will:

  • Champion improvement initiatives for current products and processes.

  • Support work on capital projects.

  • Drive change through innovative process improvement.

  • Put creativity into action.

  • Apply your knowledge in statistical process control by running experimental trials and evaluations.

  • Leverage your analytical ability to identify and solve complex problems.

  • Lean on your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build relationships.

  • Establish and maintain a program of quality checks, testing and data collection.

  • Be available for after hours support on a rotational basis.
