Commercial Swimming Pool & Water Feature Design/Build Company

Position Overview
Reporting to the Construction Department Manager, the Construction Technician plays a key hands-on role in executing a wide range of commercial aquatic construction projects. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires performing light to heavy industrial work.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and apply trade skills related to:
- Construction, renovation, and servicing of commercial swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features (condos, hotels, fitness facilities, etc.)
- Ceramic tile installation, marbilite application, painting, masonry, cement parging, concrete repair, soldering, demolition, and water chemistry
- Operate and maintain pool automation systems and industrial tools/equipment
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario Health Code, and municipal by-laws
- Collaborate with the Construction team and other internal departments
- Continuously develop and apply technical and trade-specific skills
- Upon completion of the probationary period, enroll in an Apprenticeship Program leading to a licensed trade certification
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant construction or industrial experience
- Valid eligibility to work in Canada (Citizen or Work Visa with SIN)
- Physically fit and capable of heavy industrial work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Technically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities
- Reliable team player with the ability to work independently
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- High School Diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset
- Must be 25+ with a valid G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Must own a reliable vehicle
- Bondable and highly dependable
Work Schedule
- 6-day work week during peak seasons:
- April to early July
- Mid-August to end of October
- Start times between 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM
- Extended hours required during peak periods
