The Care & Repair Circular Innovation Specialist is responsible for implementing all required objectives for qualifying Arc’teryx’s circular product ranges as they relate to repairability. The Circular Innovation Specialist will work closely with creative product and sustainability teams to ensure material selection, longevity and end-of-life needs are fulfilled on a seasonal basis. This circular qualification initiative feeds directly into Care & Repair Operation’s overall mandate to repair more, reduce waste, while keeping the good in play.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Care and Repair team is a key pillar of the ReBIRD program, where circularity lies at the core of our sustainability vision. As the operational backbone of the program, we develop scalable processes and implement them across our global network—actively contributing to our broader mission of creating durable, long-lasting products and services that serve not only our guests but also the planet. By extending the life of our products, we help reduce the number that end up in landfills. Our team is focused on building and rolling out the processes and operations that deliver an exceptional guest experience across all commercial touchpoints—including Guest Services, After-Sales, Brand Activations, Retail, and eCommerce.
If you were the Care & Repair Circular Innovation Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

- Co-own the end-to-end workflows of the circular checklist and product qualification program.
- Partner with the sustainability team to develop the seasonal circular product calendar.
- Develop and own the repairability design framework to manage and fulfil all project objective outcomes as per circular product checklist requirements.
- Prepare and deliver returns data feedback reports to initiate the concept level approach planning.
- Consult and advise design and product development teams throughout their concept and prototype stage gates.
- Initiate repairability workshops with creative teams to optimize and improve de- and reconstructing efficiency in relation to current repair standards and procedures.
- Deliver the full BOM index to maximize repairability with preferred standardized materials.
- Co-develop simple and quick fix repair solutions for our ReBird service centers and brand stores.
- Partner with Advanced Concepts in testing new raw materials as well as conceptualizing new tools and machinery to advance repair innovation.
- Ensure final prototypes of circular product models are repaired, tested and signed off with the product integrity team.
- Co-own the long-term circular product model wear testing program
- Co-partner with Advanced Concepts to optimize disassembly requirements from a construction and raw material perspective.
- Advise and consult on the development, implementation and vendor qualification of disassembly SOP manuals and workflows.
- Project manage program schedules and related tasks on the internal project management platform.
- Collaborate with product development to develop standardized sub-assembly/combination materials where required.
- Develop a costing structure for repair procedures, raw material and disassembly requirements.
- Prepare and plan for all provisions to enable repair standards and procedure manuals where new constructions and materials require it.
- Partner with the ARC’One ReBird repair center in the recording of new repair standards manuals including the implementation of improvements to construction/deconstruction, tools/machinery and repair techniques.
- Present seasonal reporting and feedback on circular product qualification outcomes to internal stakeholders.
- Owner of fulfilling requirements for external circularity surveys.
- Ensure that repair initiation at all ReBird repair expressions is scheduled with Care & Repair Operations/ReBird Retail Operations and that qualification standards are shared with the Operation Excellence Specialist.

You have 2+ years direct experience of operating and innovating in the raw material and repair environment

You have 3+ years in technical product knowledge, design, manufacturing, or quality assurance related roles

You have a bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education with a focus on operations, project management, design or product development.

You have proficiency in using project management tools like Jira and Asana
-
You have strong proficiency in Word, Power Point, Outlook, Creative Adobe Suit (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Teams with advanced abilities in Excel.

You are able to deconstruct and reconstruction technical sportswear utilizing industrial tools and machinery. Experience using heat press machinery is a plus.

You have in depth knowledge of raw materials, including identification and digital management on a PLM system.

You approach fulfilling sustainability mandates with a creative mindset, finding the balance between technical functionality and aesthetic considerations.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$70,000 - CAD $97,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
