About the role
We are seeking a Compliance Analyst to join our team in Winnipeg, Toronto, or Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk & Compliance, the Compliance Analyst will be responsible for assisting with many facets of the corporation’s legal & compliance requirements.
The Compliance Analyst will:

Oversee and manage all corporate licensing for People Corporation and all subsidiaries including renewals in each jurisdiction, new license requests/applications, etc.

Proactively monitor any regulatory updates and changes to relevant regulations and requirements in each jurisdiction in which People Corporation and its subsidiaries operate.

Assist with creation of standard operating procedures
-
Assist with broker management / coordination with respect to tracking and execution of new agreements, ongoing monitoring of licensing and insurance requirements.

Assist with the company’s insurance portfolio (corporate and individual)
-
Strategically assess the company’s needs in this regard and ensure proper insurance coverage; look to obtain insurance in the more cost effective and regulatory compliant manner.

Acquisitions - insurance, licensing, and associated corporate compliance reviews and integration planning for each acquisition made by People Corporation
To be successful as the Compliance Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:

An understanding of the insurance industry and in particular insurance brokerage and associated licensing requirements
-
Experience with corporate compliance, including but not limited to corporate transactions, and reorganizations.

Excellent critical thinking skills, with attention to detail, and consistently produce high-quality work.
-
Strong communication skills.

The ability to learn quickly and retain complex information.
-
A demonstrated ability to work independently and within a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to multi-task, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand.

Strong research and writing skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
All-star Candidates will have:
-
5 years of experience as a licensed Property & Casualty insurance broker
-
Experience in commercial insurance is an asset (Level 2 or 3 insurance brokers license preferred)
