Join us, this is where your career story takes off. Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Quality Management Office. As a Sr. Analyst, Test Automation, you will play a critical role in expanding Test Automation coverage at WestJet. You will provide support to various Product teams in the form of test automation Scripting, Code reviews, Framework/tools onboarding and Test Automation CI/CD support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Test Automation candidates to understand scope, feasibility and raise potential scripting concerns.
  • Design the implementation including methods/steps, test data, compatibility, classes, page objects, etc.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts for different layers of the application, including UI, API, Mobile, and integration testing.
  • Test implementation of automated test scripts to ensure reliability before transitioning to Product team.
  • Produce any documentation needed for transition and ensure code is readable with adequate commenting.
  • Perform code reviews of UI, Mobile and API automated tests and suites.
  • Provide on-going support to product teams with solutions or roadblock removals.
  • Setup and maintain Test Automation execution infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Monitor test automation results to identify scripts that need revisiting for reliability and optimization.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in test automation best practices, coding standards, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Improve logging/debugging scripts to ensure failures are quick to analyze root cause.
  • Test Tool management and administration support for Tests Analysts on Product teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies, and make recommendations for their adoption as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years professional experience in a technical role.
  • 6+ years’ experience implementing UI test automation scripts, frameworks, and tools, such as Gauge, Cucumber, Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium or Flutter Integration Driver.
  • 6+ years’ experience implementing API test automation scripts.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java or Javascript for test automation scripting.
  • Proficiency in API test automation frameworks and tools, such as Postman, Rest-assured, or SoapUI.
  • Deep understanding of software testing types, including unit, integration, regression, functional, performance, and other types of software testing.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, isolate, and troubleshoot issues in a complex software environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Experience in assessing test automation needs, recommending solutions, and providing guidance to teams.
