The Town is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Labourer to support parks, open spaces, and property maintenance. This position is responsible for operating mowing and grounds maintenance equipment to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate ride-on and walk-behind mowers, trimmers, and related grounds maintenance equipment.
- Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removal in parks, road allowances, and municipal properties.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow established safety procedures, traffic control requirements, and Town policies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous presence when interacting with the public.
- Assist with additional parks and public works duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience operating mowing or grounds maintenance equipment is an asset.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence (Ontario) with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Early mornings, variable hours, and occasional weekends may be required.
