The National CL Customer Onboarding Manager in Mississauga, Ontario oversees the Canadian Project Manager Group, ensuring successful execution of projects such as new business launches, service expansions for existing customers, system conversions, facility relocations, and other special initiatives. This role is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and aligned with Kuehne+Nagel customer objectives, while ensuring strict adherence to global CTI methodologies and processes. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.
How you create impact
- Support business development and solution engineering teams in pursuing new business opportunities.
- Manage, mentor, and coach Project Managers to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards, following global CTI methodology and processes.
- Monitor the progress of all Canadian projects, providing guidance as needed, and directly taking control of projects that deviate significantly from acceptable course.
- Ensure transparency and visibility of projects through comprehensive national, regional, and global reporting.
- Equip, train, and develop Project Managers to effectively perform their responsibilities.
- Oversee the proper creation and maintenance of project documentation, including project plans, risk and issue logs, status reports, change controls, PDDSs, and logistics concepts.
- Provide an escalation path for Project Managers and all project team members, both internal and external.
- Manage and document project management outcomes to ensure projects meet established scope, timelines, resource requirements, and budget expectations (including transition and training costs).
- Escalate issues to national management in a timely manner when necessary.
- Represent the organization in meetings with clients, consultants, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
- Lead decision-making and provide strong leadership in day-to-day activities as well as during challenging situations.
- Stay current with PMP standards and evolving technology trends.

Education & Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

PMP certification strongly preferred

Experience

5–10 years of progressive project management experience, or equivalent background in operations, logistics, or program management.

Leadership experience managing teams of Project Managers

Logistics/supply chain industry experience preferred, but experience in other large-scale, customer-facing project environments (e.g., IT, engineering, consulting) will be considered equivalent.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMI/CTI/Agile, etc.), or demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects using structured processes.

Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
