About the Role :
Sonic Incytes is seeking a Test Technician to join our growing team! The Test Technician will be responsible for ensuring product conformance to written specifications, performs incoming and in process inspection, tests components, sub-assemblies, and finished product. The individual will run tests, analyze and document failure modes, and will initiate and follow up on corrective actions.
This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain and is an in-person position in Vancouver, BC.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates cross-functional project team including R&D, software, hardware, and firmware engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
- Maintains accurate records of assembly and test results in alignment with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and the internal Quality Management System (QMS).
- Performs incoming inspection of parts, ensuring complete and accurate verification against technical specifications, and records batch and serial numbers for all serialized components.
- Ensures the quality of inspected parts and accurate transaction of materials into inventory.
- Continuously tracks materials in the Incoming Inspection area, ensuring timely testing, inspection, disposition, and proper labeling of serialized components by batch and serial number.
- Conducts in-process inspections of sub-assemblies, documents findings in product travelers, and provides detailed feedback to the engineering team on non-conforming materials.
- Actively supports new product introductions (NPI) by participating in prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting during early-stage development.
- Maintains Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) equipment and production jigs, ensuring they remain fully functional and calibrated according to established specifications.
Qualifications:
- Over 4 years of hands-on experience in production operations involving electro-mechanical assemblies within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively under minimal supervision.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting dimensional, functional, and cosmetic specifications.
- High attention to detail and advanced proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly techniques.
- Preferred knowledge of ISO 13485 quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for medical devices.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and coordinate activities within a project-based schedule.
- Excellent hands-on troubleshooting abilities, paired with a solid understanding of quality control methodologies.
- Experienced in the use of metrology tools, meters, and handheld measurement equipment.
- Post-secondary education or technical training in electronics, mechanical assembly, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation:
- Competitive Salary: Between $60,000 and $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
