About the role
WHO WE ARE
BVT Truck & Trailer Repair, a division of Steve’s Livestock Transport, is a diverse mechanic shop specializing in repairs and maintenance for all types of trucks and trailers as well as custom aluminum fabrication. We have now grown into three locations to serve our customers in Blumenort and Brandon, MB as well as Red Deer, AB.
We are currently looking for an experienced Tire Technician to join our team at our Blumenort location
SHIFT
Weekend Shift, Friday – Sunday (3 x 12-hour shifts), 5:00am – 5:30pm
$4.00/hour Premium
Work 36 hours a week, but get paid for 40 hours!
YOUR ROLE
- Install, balance, rotate, and repair tires and wheels
- Ensure all tires and wheels are inspected for correct inflation, wear patterns, tread depth and damage
- Lock out any equipment that is found to have a safety deficiency
- Maintain tire service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis
- Diagnose tire related problems and perform required service
- Perform yard checks to document the trailers that are currently on the property
- Perform equipment checks and repairs on the yard and in the shop as required/directed to inspect for broken/missing/inoperative lights, air leaks and/or miscellaneous damage or defects and report to Service Writer and/or Manager
- Advise leader of potential warranty claims
- Review rejects and scrap tires to determine cause of failure and make recommendations where improvements can be made
- Conducts tire inventory counts
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ Years of Tire technician experience desired
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Mechanical experience (trucks or trailers) is considered an asset
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to recognize potential warranty claims
- Ability to work outdoors as well as in the shop

About Steve's Livestock Transport
Founded in 1987 as a one-man operation, Steve's Livestock Transport has since grown to become North America's largest commercial livestock transportation company. Over the last 25 years, we have expanded to include a dry freight division. We have three locations to serve our customers, in Blumenort and Brandon, Manitoba and Acme, Alberta.
We have a fleet of 130 power units, transporting more than 2,500 cattle and 150,000 pigs per week within Canada and the United States. All 3 of our locations have commercial washing and repair facilities for trucks and trailers. In addition to servicing our own units, these facilities provide custom washing and repairs for other large equipment and fleets as well.
