Job Description

APIGEE Dev Portal Support Business System Analyst

Location: Toronto (4 days/week in office) Rate: To be determined

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced APIGEE Dev Portal Support Business System Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API management and a proven track record of supporting and maintaining developer portals. In this role, you will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring our API developer portal meets both business needs and technical requirements. Your expertise will be critical in driving the evolution of our API ecosystem and enhancing the end-to-end customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Analysis and Design:

    • Identify, document, and validate the current state of our technology capabilities and ecosystem.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design the desired future state, providing recommendations based on a deep understanding of the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Requirements Management:

    • Elicit, document, and manage requirements from various stakeholders, ensuring all needs are captured accurately.
    • Own and manage the traceability of system requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
    • Ensure acceptance criteria clearly demonstrate that system changes will meet stakeholder expectations.
  • API Management and Portal Support:

    • Provide support for the implementation and maintenance of our API Developer Portal and API Gateways.
    • Create and author functional and technical content for the portals, ensuring clarity and accuracy for a technical audience.
  • Agile Project Support:

    • Apply knowledge of agile frameworks and methodologies to support project delivery.
    • Work closely with testing teams to translate requirements and use cases into comprehensive test conditions and expected results for various testing phases (product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance).
  • Process and Stakeholder Management:

    • Analyze and map business processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
    • Engage with and manage stakeholders, understanding their needs and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years of professional experience in the API Management Domain (e.g., REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, EDA, etc.).
    • 2+ years of experience with API Management Platforms/Tools (e.g., Apigee, Microsoft Azure, Envoy, etc.).
    • 2+ years of experience implementing and/or maintaining API Developer Portals or API Gateways.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills:

    • Proficient in Requirements Management, including the ability to elicit, document, and manage detailed requirements.
    • Strong Systems Analysis skills, with the ability to analyze existing systems and identify areas for improvement or new solutions.
    • Excellent Critical Thinking skills to analyze information, identify issues, and make sound judgments.
  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Exceptional Stakeholder Management abilities, with a track record of leading and engaging with stakeholders effectively.
    • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies is a must.
  • Value-Add Skills:

    • Prior experience with User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) principles is a significant asset.
