Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000

Join a collaborative team that values learning and hands-on experience. In this Project Technologist – indoor environmental quality (IEQ) role in Hamilton, you’ll play a key part in supporting project teams while building your technical skills in both IEQ and Harzardous Materials.

Pinchin is hiring a Project Technologist in the IEQ Group in Hamilton. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is being filled as a new role.

Role Overview 

In this position, you will play an important role in both groups in helping clients create safer and healthier spaces. Working in both IEQ and HAZ services will provide diverse work experience and your work will support projects that protect workers, improve building performance, and strengthen the health and resilience of communities. You will assess conditions in the field, gather accurate data, and translate your findings into clear recommendations that help clients make informed decisions. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to understand their goals and deliver solutions that reflect quality, integrity, and care. This is meaningful work with real impact, and you will grow your skills while contributing to projects that make buildings and environments better.

Your Role and Action

  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality, designated substances, and hazardous materials.
  • Collect and interpret air, bulk, building material, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, and mould samples.
  • Analyze sample results in relation to legislation, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Perform site visits, inspections, field documentation, and remediation/abatement monitoring.
  • Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors to support safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare clear technical reports with findings and practical recommendations.
  • Manage project time effectively and support quality control within the group.
  • Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety, and hygiene requirements are met.
  • Build positive client relationships through responsive communication, service, and technical support.

What You’ll Bring to Pinchin

  • College diploma in Environmental, Construction, or Architectural Technology, or a Bachelor of Science, Applied Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Post-graduate environmental management certificate or equivalent would be an asset.
  • Consulting industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building systems, including structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed, mature, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Availability to travel, work outside core business hours, and occasionally work weekends as required.
