About the role

We are currently seeking a Branch Operational Support Advisor to join our team.

The Branch Operational Support Advisor provides advisory services and support to branch/hub staff and on retail/commercial operational issues and participates in the development, support and execution of projects that enhance the delivery of retail and business services to members. This role also provides subject matter expertise to department employees, as required.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day

  • Branch Operations: Acts as the primary resource for branch/hub staff on issues on retail and business services operational and technical issues; provides advice and support to staff and works to resolve problems or issues in a timely manner. Provides support and training during branch renovations/builds to ensure seamless operations.

  • Documentation: Updates and/or implements approved or revised banking forms; researches, develops and implements retail and business services standardized policies and procedures; maintains the operations and branch compliance manuals and ensures updates are released in a timely manner and appropriate support provided; provides reporting to appropriate divisions for various statistics on a monthly basis; maintains existing banking forms, creates and implements new approved or revised forms.

  • Third Party Relationships: Liaises with third party providers related to branch operations; works with external resources to obtain clarification, direction and opinions on operational and/or regulatory issues.

  • Projects: Represents Operations on corporate projects and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that create efficiencies and enhance the member experience.

  • Administration: Performs administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required

  • College, Trade or Tech School Diploma (2 years) in a related discipline preferred

  • 3 years related experience in the financial service industry required

  • Solid understanding of retail and commercial policies, procedures and legal requirements and product/service delivery

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally, in writing or through presentations to a wide variety of people

  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and/or training sessions/focus groups

  • Proficient with computer software applications e.g. MS Office

  • Basic knowledge of project management, an asset

  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
