Civil Engineering Technologist/ Site Inspector – Roads, Highways & Bridge Projects Location: ONSITE- Windsor, Ontario, CANADA Compensation: $20 CAD/hr - $24 CAD/hr

Position Summary
The Construction Site Inspector will be responsible for conducting field inspections and monitoring construction activities for municipal and provincial road, highway, and bridge projects across Ontario. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant inspection experience and a strong understanding of construction practices, contract drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform on-site inspection and monitoring of road, highway, bridge, and municipal infrastructure projects. Ensure construction work is completed in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, MTO standards, and applicable regulations. Monitor construction quality, workmanship, materials, and site safety compliance. Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, field notes, photographs, and quantity measurements. Coordinate with contractors, project managers, consultants, and municipal representatives regarding site activities and deficiencies. Review and document testing results including compaction, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. Identify and report non-conforming work and assist in resolving field issues. Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to project stakeholders. Assist with contract administration and project documentation as required. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) requirements and company safety policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field. Minimum 1 year of experience in construction inspection for roads, highways, bridges, or municipal infrastructure projects in Ontario. Familiarity with Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS), Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM), and MTO standards. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience preparing daily inspection reports and field documentation. Valid G-class driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites across Ontario. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced construction environment. Certification such as RCJI, Road Construction Junior Inspector, CSA, or related certifications would be considered an asset.
Preferred Skills
Experience with municipal infrastructure projects. Knowledge of bridge rehabilitation and roadway reconstruction projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction reporting software. Traffic control and health & safety training certifications are considered assets.
