As the Shovels and Drills Manager, you will execute the Electric Rope Shovel new equipment sales strategy, driving revenue growth and market share for Caterpillar mining equipment. You’ll lead major deal teams, manage financials, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional solutions. This role combines strategic planning, relationship management, and technical expertise to support both new equipment and aftermarket opportunities.

Job Description:

  • Achieve revenue, profitability, and asset management targets while growing Caterpillar’s market share in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic approaches for new equipment sales through engagement with stakeholders including CAT, account teams, customers, and internal departments.
  • Manage financial aspects of electric rope shovel deals, including cost build-ups and pricing strategies.
  • Collect and analyze competitive intelligence, understand customer needs, and position Caterpillar effectively in the market.
  • Support aftermarket management by contributing to solution development and augmenting team capacity when required.
  • Lead major deal teams, develop proposals, and respond to budgetary and formal pricing requests.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders through structured and ad hoc meetings.
  • Develop equipment proposals and manage cost build-ups for Electric Rope Shovels.
  • Forecast equipment demand and prepare accurate pricing responses.
  • Integrate aftermarket solutions into new equipment proposals.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Surface Mining Director.

Requirements:

  • Strong financial aptitude, particularly in managing cost build-ups.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across multiple levels.
  • Proven presentation and proposal development skills for internal and external audiences.
  • Knowledge of the mining industry and Caterpillar equipment.
  • Desire and ability to learn about Caterpillar loading and drilling tools and Finning solutions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Important:

  • This position is based out of our Fort McMurray town shop location.
  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Monday – Friday, (5x2) schedule.
