##Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • University degree in a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., health administration, business, public administration, education, or related discipline) is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Training or certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) is an asset.
  • Training related to accreditation, quality assurance, or organizational effectiveness is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience leading strategic initiatives, implementation efforts, or organizational improvement work in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or managing professional staff.
  • Experience conducting performance management, coaching, and staff development.
  • Experience overseeing or coordinating multiple concurrent initiatives or workstreams.
  • Experience supporting accreditation, quality assurance, standards, or regulatory-related initiatives.
  • Experience aligning projects or initiatives with organizational strategy, policies, and operational priorities.
  • Experience contributing to development of frameworks, standards, or approaches related to implementation, process improvement, or accreditation activities.
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, risks, and reporting at a program or portfolio level.
  • Experience working across multiple departments, colleges, or stakeholder groups in a complex organization is required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong systems thinking and ability to understand how initiatives affect multiple operational areas.

  • Ability to support consistent implementation and process improvement approaches across the unit.

  • Ability to identify organizational risks, barriers, and interdependencies across initiatives.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, managers, and cross-functional partners.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to varied audiences.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of relevant organizational, clinical, or operational policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and systems (EPIC)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Ability to develop reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

##Key responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Unit Management

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the unit’s strategic and operational activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, including project leads, analysts, and coordinators.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure effective team performance.
  • Build and maintain institutional relationships with college leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for unit staff.
  • Assign, coordinate, and monitor staff workload and deliverables.
  • Serve as a resource and provide guidance to team members and programs.
  • Support staff in achieving objectives and addressing operational challenges.
  • Ensure team awareness of and compliance with relevant University and unit policies and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Ensure job descriptions remain current and reflect changes in roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct performance management activities, including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, and ongoing monitoring of progress.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support staff in fulfilling their roles.

Strategic Implementation

  • Develop frameworks for monitoring progress, KPIs, and outcomes.
  • Support execution of strategic and quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational strategy and operational priorities.
  • Performs other related duties as determined to support staff in their respective roles.

Accreditation Support and Readiness

  • Guide accreditation planning, monitoring, and readiness activities.
  • Implement monitoring frameworks such as Accreditation Monitoring Plans.
  • Performs other related duties as determined to support staff in their respective roles.

Program Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

  • Establish systems for tracking recommendations and progress post-accreditation.
  • Promote consistent implementation and process improvement approaches.
  • Performs other related duties as determined to support staff in their respective roles.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with deans, administrators, faculty, and external partners.
  • Facilitate cross-college coordination and alignment.
  • Communicate complex information to senior leadership.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Maintains and updates the Units processes.

  • May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
