GCS Group has a spot open for an Intermediate Telecom HDD Driller on our Red Deer-based underground construction crew. You've already got hours on a drill — now it's time to put them to work on projects that will sharpen your skills further and give you the kind of field experience that actually advances a career.

We operate Ditch Witch equipment on active fibre and telecom installations, and we need an operator who can run bores with moderate oversight, coordinate confidently with the locating team, and hold themselves accountable for the quality of their work. We'll give you the hours and the support to keep growing.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Operate Ditch Witch HDD drill rigs on underground telecom installations
• Execute pilot bores and pullbacks with accuracy under moderate supervision
• Communicate actively and clearly with SubSite locators throughout every bore
• Manage drill fluid systems, monitor ground conditions, and adjust drilling parameters as needed
• Handle drill string assembly, tooling selection, and routine rig maintenance
• Complete shift reports and contribute to accurate project field records
• Support junior operators with equipment handling and site procedures

Experience & Certifications

• Demonstrated operating experience on Ditch Witch HDD drill equipment
• Working knowledge of SubSite locating systems and how to coordinate with locators
• Background in telecom, fibre, or underground utility drilling preferred
• All certifications valid and current — must be confirmed before your start date
• Comfortable taking initiative and making operational decisions on site
• Valid driver's licence; Class 3 an asset
