The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to manage the Saskatoon District Operations District. This position will be located in Saskatoon; however, consideration will be given to other locations within the District.
As part of the Northern Region management team, reporting to the Director of Central Operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel who preserve, maintain and operate provincial highways within the Saskatoon District.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the District Operations Manager are to plan, deliver, monitor and report the district’s highway maintenance and operating programs; provide leadership to employees; coordinate the planning, budgeting and operation of area equipment; and investigate, respond to and deal with public inquiries and complaints.
You will be responsible for developing the annual work plan, the delivery of the approved program and management of the district budget. As the District Operations Manager, you will represent the Ministry in responding to local levels of government, as well as emergency response agencies and public inquiries related to highway maintenance and operations in the Saskatoon District.
To qualify for this position, you will have a combination of education, training and experience with heavy construction, project management, and/or management in a government context.
