Your Role

Do you have keen news sense and solid editorial judgment? Are you as comfortable on-camera and behind a mic as you are writing for the web? Are you looking to join a high-performing, Vancouver-based team that settles for nothing less than excellence?

Radio-Canada Colombie-Britannique is seeking an experienced Cross-Platform Reporter/Editor for our Vancouver newsroom. You will produce compelling articles and stories on British Columbia’s most pressing issues for our French-speaking audiences across radio, television and digital platforms.

If you are a versatile journalist ready to cover a province whose stories resonate across the entire country, we want to hear from you!

Please note: The work schedule may include weekends, early mornings or late evenings in rotation with other colleagues.

What You Bring:

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience that includes proven ability in the field and knowledge of the media industry.
  • Proven ability to pitch and chase story ideas.
  • Solid command of spoken and written French (language of work).
  • Excellent understanding of spoken and written English, with good oral proficiency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada Journalistic Standards and Practices.
  • Critical mind.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment.
  • Solid knowledge of British Columbia, Canadian and international news.
  • Familiarity with issues affecting French-speaking minority communities, particularly in British Columbia.
  • Availability to travel and work flexible hours, including on weekends.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s licence.
  • Ability to pick up new technology quickly.
