About the role

Athabasca University's Learning Services Tutorial Department is seeking a permanentIndividualized Study Tutor for the following course:

PSYC 387: Learning

**Qualifications and Experience Required:**A minimum of a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Psychology is required.Because this course serves as a prerequisite for programs in applied psychology and counselling, preference may be given to applicants who meet the requirements for appointment to the Centre for Applied Psychology (CAP).

The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise in learning theory, conditioning, and behaviour modification, including topics such as reinforcement, punishment, schedules of reinforcement, stimulus control, observational learning, and the application of learning principles to real-world behavioural problems. The tutor will be responsible for providing academic assistance to students, marking assignments, and assigning and recording final grades.

Teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies and online course delivery is preferred. Experience with adult education and Moodle-based course delivery is considered an asset.

Along with the relevant academic credentials noted above, this position requires excellent communication, organizational, administrative, and online/computer skills. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to maintain high academic standards, maintain accurate student records, and return students' work promptly within the University's required service standards. Candidates must own or have access to a computer and reliable internet with the capability to communicate with the University and students and to run any applications required to perform tutorial support.

Non-doctoral prepared employees: $243.25 prorated per block, per biweekly pay.

Doctoral prepared employees: $252.98 prorated per block, per biweekly pay.
