The eCommerce Merchandiser will be responsible for online merchandising of ROBINSONco.ca, reporting on product and web performance, and optimizing content. They will also be responsible for planning and executing the strategies to reach the department business objectives, while delivering a great customer experience.

Candidates for this role can be located in Vancouver or Winnipeg.

Online Merchandising

  • Support the development and execution of merchandising plans aligned to departmental objectives
  • Support day-to-day merchandising updates/data enrichment, including product/category/campaign landing pages, site navigation, site search, upsells/cross sells, and other elements of the site as required
  • Maximize sales and conversion based on business needs and customer trends.
  • Monitor stock and sale movements and identify immediate actions to boost sales or exit/reduce ranking of poorly selling products.
  • Spot-check all digital content before it gets sent out or published to ensure the accuracy of timelines and ensure the best product is being promoted.
  • Monitor data feeds
  • Support site excellence through routine audit of the website.
  • Work closely with Purchasers and the Manager, Showroom Experience to ensure the retail channels are aligned and provide a consistent shopping experience to our customers.
  • Recommend product and support marketing initiatives, advertising, etc.
  • Optimize internal search by rule enhancements and analysis of top search terms.
  • Assist in the identification of customer journeys to shorten and strengthen path to purchase and conversion.

Planning & Reporting – Driving Insight and Innovation

  • Responsible for product performance tracking and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis (KPI’s, action plans and initiatives).
  • Optimize site for current product trends, assortment opportunities, etc.
  • Create, manage, and deliver data-driven site merchandising strategies to increase overall product discovery by creating customer-centric merchandising decisions.
  • Develop and implement merchandising A/B test plans to gauge customer preferences and conversions rate improvements.
  • Stay on top of key trends and new product developments in the digital merchandising field to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Audit/monitor competitor’s sites and implement weekly actionable updates.
  • Communicate findings and analysis concisely to the eCommerce team and, when required, to cross-departmental teams with the end goal of providing actionable insights.

Partners / Vendors

  • Work hand-in-hand with various stakeholders to develop and execute strategic action plans to support new product releases, special buys, online-only products, promotions, etc.
  • Liaise with vendor partners and data aggregators to ensure we have their most updated information for the most accurate online experience.
  • Support the onboarding of dropship programs that align with business growth.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives that will help further enhance the online shopping experience.

Customer Service & Engagement

  • Maintain a constant line of communication with the eCommerce customer service/sales team to action any improvements/changes based on customer’s feedback and experience.

Special Projects

  • Support special projects that involve cross-functional teams.
  • Support other duties as assigned.

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following background/experience:

  • University Degree/College Diploma or equivalent in marketing, e-commerce, digital planning or merchandising skills
  • 2-5 years related experience with an e-commerce retailer
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Experience using analytical tools such as Google Analytics
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt, and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Acute eye for products, trends, and online merchandising tactics in the home décor industry
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability building collaborative team relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PP)
  • Curiosity about the digital marketplace; passion around the online shopping experience preferred
  • Retail experience preferred, ROBINSON sales experience, an asset
  • Knowledge of web merchandising tools, Shopify, Plytix (PIM), etc. preferred
  • Proficiency in Jira (or other project management software), Agile methodology, SEO Optimization, and UX design preferred

ROBINSON values your experience and recognizes the contributions you make to the success of our business. Your starting pay will be based on the skills and experience you bring to the role. In BC, employees in this position can expect to earn a base salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, with opportunities to earn more as you grow and develop with us. Your salary will be supplemented with monthly bonus opportunities, annual profit share, wellness days, RRSP program and a generous benefits package.
