WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB

Welcome to HALO Bistro|Bar – the epicenter of trendy upscale dining experience in Edmonton’s local area. We fuse traditional and locally indigenous menu options, serving up a menu that’s a fusion of local flavor and global inspiration. As a HALO Ambassador, you'll ensure every guest leaves with an unforgettable taste of HALO's urban culture and modern charm in our 100-seat bar and 100-seat restaurant.

  • Ensure that tables in your assigned area are set like a masterpiece. Table complements like salt, pepper, and bread baskets? Keep 'em clean and fully stocked for the ultimate dining experience.
  • Know our menu inside and out, from the bar to the bistro, for every meal setting. Impress our guests with your culinary wisdom - tell them all about the star ingredients and the culinary wizardry behind each dish.
  • Be the master of timing! Follow the cues to serve each course with precision, like a conductor leading a symphony.
  • Greet and serve guests with a smile, and don't be shy about upselling some delectable extras. You're here to make their dining dreams come true!
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest requests like a mind reader. If needed, pass them on to the supervisor for some magical service.
  • Keep your station sparkling throughout service. Patrol it like a pro, refilling water and coffee, and keeping things tidy. The stage is set, and you're the star!
  • Use your persuasive powers for "suggestive selling." Whether it's tempting them with fine wines, mixed drinks, or after-dinner delights, you're the sales superstar!
  • Handle guest checks and payments with finesse. Show off your money-handling wizardry!
  • After the dining extravaganza, ensure everything is spick and span. Return re-usable table complements and condiments.
  • Clean and return tray stands to their proper storage area like a pro rocketeer. It's all part of the show!
  • Keep an eye out for any lost or damaged equipment or linen and report it to management. You're the Sherlock Holmes of the restaurant!
  • Be ready to adapt to changing demands and lend a hand wherever it's needed. You're the hero that keeps the restaurant running like a well-oiled machine!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to work with little supervision
  • Superior customer service skills with prior experience in the hospitality industry
  • Able to lift heavy objects
  • Open availability including weekends and holidays
  • Prior hotel experience is a strong asset
  • Valid ProServe Certification
