Position Summary: The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for leading Pocketride's marketing strategy while building a scalable marketing organization capable of supporting the vision. Working directly with the Founder & CEO and executive leadership team, you'll shape how Pocketride is positioned in the market, establish a trusted brand, develop customer acquisition strategies, and build the marketing foundation that supports the growth. This role combines leadership with hands-on execution and is ideal for someone excited by the opportunity to build rather than inherit.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand & Corporate Marketing Develop and lead Pocketride's brand strategy. Define the positioning, messaging and brand voice. Build and protect a consistent brand identity across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints. Strengthen Pocketride's reputation as an innovative Canadian technology company. Ensure brand consistency across all marketing initiatives.
Product Marketing & Go-to-Market Develop go-to-market strategies for new products, features and initiatives. Translate complex technology into compelling customer value propositions. Lead market positioning and launch planning. Build repeatable frameworks for introducing offerings to market. Develop customer education strategies that improve adoption and understanding.
Growth Marketing & Customer Acquisition Develop scalable rider and driver acquisition strategies. Lead digital marketing initiatives across multiple channels. Build referral, lifecycle and retention marketing programs. Optimize customer acquisition funnels using data and performance insights. Identify new customer growth opportunities. Improve marketing effectiveness through continuous experimentation and optimization.
Communications & Public Relations Lead Pocketride's communications and public relations strategy. Develop relationships with media, industry organizations and community stakeholders. Prepare press releases, company announcements and executive communications. Support conference participation, speaking opportunities and thought leadership initiatives. Strengthen Pocketride's public reputation and industry presence.
Digital Experience Lead the digital marketing strategy. Oversee website strategy, optimization and customer experience. Drive SEO, email marketing, CRM marketing and marketing automation initiatives. Improve customer journeys across all digital touchpoints. Monitor digital performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Creative & Content Develop Pocketride's content strategy. Lead creative direction across campaigns and marketing initiatives. Build compelling stories that connect with customers, partners and communities. Oversee marketing assets including video, graphics, photography and written content. Maintain high creative standards across every communication channel. Market Intelligence Monitor industry trends, competitive activity and emerging technologies. Conduct market research supporting business decisions. Gather customer insights that strengthen marketing strategy. Identify opportunities that support company growth. Provide executive leadership with market intelligence. Leadership Responsibilities
As a founding executive, you will: Build Pocketride's marketing organization from the ground up. Recruit, mentor and develop marketing team members as the company grows. Manage agencies, contractors and external marketing partners. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration and accountability. Work closely with the executive leadership team to align marketing with company priorities. Represent the marketing function as a trusted advisor within the organization.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 12–24 months, you will have: Established Pocketride as a trusted technology brand within the mobility sector. Built a scalable marketing organization capable of supporting the vision and growth. Developed repeatable go-to-market frameworks that successfully support new products, services, market initiatives and business opportunities. Increased customer acquisition, market awareness and brand credibility through data-driven marketing strategies. Positioned Pocketride for successful expansion into new communities and markets through marketing and brand development. Created marketing systems and processes that can scale alongside the evolution. Built a strong public presence through communications, industry engagement and thought leadership. Developed marketing capabilities that support the launch of offerings, emerging business opportunities and new revenue initiatives as the company continues to grow. Established a collaborative marketing culture that drives innovation, execution and measurable business impact across the organization.
Qualifications: We're looking for a builder who enjoys creating organizations from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will bring: 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including senior leadership responsibilities. Experience building or scaling marketing functions within startups, scale-ups or high-growth organizations. Strong expertise across brand strategy, product marketing, growth marketing and digital marketing. Demonstrated success launching products, entering new markets or building recognizable brands. Experience developing and executing marketing plans. Strong commercial thinking supported by data-driven decision making. Exceptional communication, leadership and relationship-building skills. Experience leading agencies, contractors and cross-functional initiatives. A passion for technology, innovation and solving customer problems.
