About the role

The Department of Physical Sciences at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a 2-year Limited Term Contract faculty position in Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to commence July 1, 2026. TRU offers B.Sc. degrees with Canadian Society for Chemistry accredited Majors in Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. TRU also offers an interdisciplinary Major in Chemical Biology.

The successful candidate could teach a second-year physical chemistry lecture and labs, first-year general chemistry lectures and labs, and organic chemistry labs not currently covered by faculty.

Candidates should have a strong background in general chemistry, laboratory instruction, and a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate chemistry, as well as experience in undergraduate curriculum development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Chemistry (or near completion).

Established teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.
