About the role
Who We Are
At LuminUltra, we don’t just test for microbes, we bring clarity to uncertainty. Our tools and services empower industries to get the insights they need to act with speed, precision and confidence.
As a global leader in applied molecular diagnostics, we support organizations across the water, energy and food sectors - where microbial risks can threaten safety, compliance and operational performance. Through our suite of innovative testing solutions and expert services, we equip frontline teams with the insights they need to make high-stakes decisions quickly and accurately. Behind every test result is a deeper purpose: to help industries and communities thrive. From detecting early-stage contamination in food production, to ensuring asset integrity in complex industrial systems, to identifying pathogens in water networks, our work is about keeping essential operations moving with less risk and greater resilience.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Fredericton, New Brunswick, LuminUltra has grown into a globally recognized company with a team located across Canada, the U.S., the UK and France. We’re united by a shared vision: a resilient world where industries and communities thrive with clarity and control over microbial risks.
Join us and be part of an innovative, collaborative team that shows up every day - for our customers, and for each other.
Where You’ll Work
We are open to remote work from one of the provinces that we are established in – Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. There are opportunities for hybrid work if located close to Fredericton, New Brunswick.
What You Will Do
LuminUltra is recruiting an Inside Sales Development Representative (Municipal & Environmental Water)
to join our dynamic Inside Sales Team.
In this role, you will focus on generating and nurturing new business opportunities and educating the Municipal & Environmental Water sector
on the power of LuminUltra’s expertise and solutions. You will own targeted account growth, inbound and outbound lead management, and outreach to drive interest, commitment, and sales growth of our portfolio of technologies and solutions.
The ideal candidate is driven to uncover customer pain points and apply LuminUltra’s microbial solutions to create a measurable impact. You will take ownership of your own book of accounts, mastering modern digital lead generation tools and multi-channel outreach to create and qualify opportunities. Along the way, you’ll apply proven business development practices to connect with new prospects, re-engage dormant accounts, and accelerate customer acquisition.
Success will be measured through revenue growth within our portfolio of technologies and solutions. This position offers a base salary range of $45,000 to $55,000 CAD, depending on experience, with the opportunity for increased compensation through our Sales Incentive Bonus Plan.
The Inside Sales Development Representative will support key organizational objectives and have key responsibilities such as:
- Consistently meet or exceed sales quota through targeted growth and effective account engagement strategies.
- Accelerate new customer acquisition by owning inbound leads, creating/qualifying sales opportunities, and managing a personal book of accounts with tailored outreach strategies.
- Drive revenue growth by taking full responsibility for the sales process — identifying opportunities, nurturing leads, handling objections, and closing both new and expansion business.
- Execute high-volume, multi-channel prospecting (calls, emails, social outreach) to generate interest and build pipeline, while meeting or exceeding daily activity expectations.
- Develop best practices for lead generation, lead nurturing, and opportunity creation, focusing on improving velocity from lead creation to close.
- Create and execute direct account engagement strategies, including creating playbooks with sequences to support outbound, upsell/cross-sell, nurturing, and re-engaging closed-lost opportunities.
- Advocate for the voice of our customers, sharing customer insight with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales regarding innovations and continuous improvements that are needed to improve customer experience.
Who You Are
You are a driven self-starter with a competitive edge, eager to learn how advanced microbial tools bring certainty and confidence to municipal drinking water, wastewater, and storm water. Additionally, you bring skills and experience such as:
- 1+ year of relevant sales experience
- Previous cold-calling experience
- Educational background in business, science, or engineering is considered an asset
- Superb writing, communication, and listening skills with the ability to empathize with the customer
- Results-driven and self-motivated; you have a proven ability to make strong connections and overcome rejection to achieve results
- A team player who prioritizes ‘we’ rather than ‘me’.
