Overview of role: Within the IT Field Services Team, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for providing onsite technical support and maintenance for remotely located desktops, laptops, network infrastructure, kiosks, and other systems. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of airport technology, contributing to efficient airport operations and exceptional customer service.
Being the lead analyst within an operational pod, the Senior Analyst will administer, implement key improvements, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents within the technology stack that supports the business unit. Playing a key role in change, incident, and release management for the product stack, the Senior Analyst will maintain the stability and functionality of the systems supported.Administration of relevant technology within their product or operationally focused team
Key deliverables / responsibilities include:
- Provide timely and effective support to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
- Support and maintain network infrastructure, including SD-WAN edges, switches, firewalls, wireless access point, and supporting technologies
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Sabre systems and applications
- Leads in change, incident, problem management tasks within product team
- Understanding of overall architecture of technology supported and how to identify and troubleshoot challenges within, provides insights and expertise where required
- Ticket management, documentation of steps taken to fix or improve work items
- Knowledge management input, development of support runbooks and transition to operation process
- Responsible to ensure that all knowledge management is up to date and published for technology supported
- Work closely with other IT Teams, airport staff, and external vendors to ensure seamless technology integration and support
- Participation in relevant audits if required
- Requirement to be part of a on-call rotation within a Team for weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required
- This position will require travel to WestJet remote locations (airports, hangars, maintenance facilities)
- This role involves the lifting of IT equipment and working in confined spaces
Experience and qualifications:
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on desktop setup/troubleshooting and supporting network infrastructure
- Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple items
- Incident and problem management skills
- Willingness to learn related technology and business process
- Ability to determine root cause from outcomes
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (requires a 5-year traceable history, a clear criminal record and a Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident Card).
- Must be able to travel internationally (United States and beyond) without restrictions.
- Must hold a current valid passport; where a Canadian Passport is not held, a Canadian Permanent Resident card (accompanied with all individual Visas necessary to enable you to perform the duties of a Cabin Crew Member wherever WestJet operates) is required.
