About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled DData Architect to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. This role involves re-architecting legacy systems, optimizing data models, and ensuring robust data structures. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with MS SQL and proficiency in additional query languages, with a strong foundation in data architecture principles.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data models and data structures to support evolving business needs.
- Modernize and re-architect legacy data systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Work with both relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.) and non-relational databases (NoSQL, document, and key-value stores).
- Optimize MS SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies for performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, software engineering, product, business) to ensure data accessibility and usability.
- Ensure data governance, quality, and security standards are embedded in architecture and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or database development.
- Strong expertise in MS SQL Server and ability to work with other query languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational database systems.
- Solid understanding of data modeling techniques
- Experience with scaling data infrastructure in enterprise or cloud environments.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks, data pipelines, and data integration tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their native data services.
