About the role

Description

This role is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting and selection throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, and sourcing strategies as well as developing new and creative ideas. This individual will be pivotal in positively impacting the candidate experience and enhance GS1 Canada’s brand as an employer of choice

Key metrics for this role include and are not limited to: time to fill for open positions, quality of hire, source of hire.

Key Responsibilities

Key Role

  • Manage the recruitment process including creating role profiles and sourcing, assessing and selecting talent while building a strong candidate pool and talent pipeline.
  • Support the development of GS1 Canada’s recruitment strategy.
  • Develop standardized recruitment processes, interview guides and assessments as required.
  • Develop partnerships with temporary placement / search firms in order to establish preferred arrangements.
  • Support delivery of training to enable business leaders to adopt recruitment best practices.
  • Works with Director, HR Programs to consolidate the metrics into overall HR and KPI reporting.

Interviewing and Selecting Talent

  • Conducts interviews with candidates and business partners to effectively identify skills, experience and potential of candidates and makes recommendations to management accordingly.

  • Develop internal and external job postings.

  • Screen candidates to assess for core competencies of job requirements and a fit with GS1 Canada’s culture.

  • Prepare a short list of candidates and prepare candidate summaries for the hiring manager.

  • Coordinate the selection process including interviews and background checks.

  • Liaise with third party vendors to ensure effective and timely completion of background checks.

  • Coordinate background checks and drafts/prepares employment offers.

  • Facilitate the final decision and presents the offer to the candidate;

  • Work with the hiring manager in preparation for the employee's arrival and orientation to the business; also to understand the role and ideal candidate

  • Manage external partnerships with recruitment agencies and consultants;

  • Follow-up and provide feedback to all candidates on final decisions and ensure the facilitation of a positive candidate experience.

  • Maintains a superior level of stakeholder service for all employees and business partners.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of high volume recruiting experience

  • University/college degree, or post graduate certificate in Human Resources or a related discipline;

  • Strong verbal communication skills including interviewing, selling, influencing, negotiating, and collaborating.

  • Preference given to candidates with Bilingual (French/English) language skills, as it may involve communication with stakeholders and business partners across Canada, including in provinces where French is the predominant language.

  • Experience in networking, attracting and sourcing a diverse, top-talent candidate pool;

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver creative and innovative candidate sourcing strategies and techniques, including a successful track record of sourcing passive candidates;

  • Strong customer service-focused attitude with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;

  • Applicant tracking system experience and other recruiting tools as required;

  • Behavioral interviewing experience required including and not limited to training and guideline creation;

  • Strong project management skills, including planning for and tracking recruiting metrics;

  • Highly organized, willing and be able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and demonstrate agility when required to meet demanding deadlines;

  • High level of initiative and strong drive to succeed.
