We are seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Journeyperson to join the Cardinal Mechanical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and metalworking, and will be responsible for working through all stages of sheet metal fabrication, installation, and repairs. This role requires expertise with various hand tools, techniques, and safety practices related to sheet metal projects. The Sheet Metal Journeyperson will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project requirements. Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products according to specifications. Utilize hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal components. Conduct restoration work on existing installations, ensuring quality and durability. Perform welding tasks as needed for assembly and repair of metal structures. Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and flooring installation teams to complete projects. Apply caulking and construction painting techniques as required for finishing touches. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

What We’re Looking For

Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is essential. Familiarity with hand tools used in metal fabrication, including but not limited to saws, drills, and welding equipment. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What You’ll Need

Journeyperson/red seal endorsement certification. High school diploma and proof of completion of apprenticeship. Proven experience in sheet metal work or related field.
