About the role

Who you are

  • This is an ideal role for a curious, detail-oriented content creator who’s excited about experimenting with AI to improve efficiency, test at scale, and help define the future of how we create and optimize copy
  • 2–4 years of experience writing CRM and lifecycle marketing copy for a consumer-facing brand (tech, CPG, eComm, or marketplace experience a plus)
  • Strong understanding of how to write for mobile-first channels: email, push, in-app, and SMS
  • A curious mindset—you’re excited to experiment with AI but know when human judgment and storytelling are needed
  • Comfort working with A/B tests, using results (AI- or human-generated) to refine messaging approaches
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Proficient in Figma, Google Suite, and Slack, with strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently
  • Experience leveraging data, research, insights and A/B Testing to deliver informed creative solutions. Experience with AI writing tools or an eagerness to learn how to apply them effectively in marketing workflows

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a creative and resourceful Growth Copywriter to join our Growth Creative team. In this role, you’ll not only write high-impact, customer-facing messaging that drives engagement, retention, and loyalty—but also leverage AI tools and workflows to scale content production across lifecycle channels
  • You’ll work closely with marketers, designers, and product teams to both craft messaging by hand and build AI-assisted processes that allow us to do more, faster—without sacrificing creativity or brand voice
  • The Instacart Creative Team is dedicated to revolutionizing how people shop for groceries, creating a seamless and impactful experience for everyone. Within the Creative Studio organization, you’ll be part of the Growth Creative Team, focusing on driving engagement and innovation through thoughtful and effective design
  • Own creative copy development across CRM touchpoints (email, push, SMS, in-app, PDM, ASO, etc), with a focus on Instacart’s full suite of offerings—including grocery, restaurant delivery, retail, and Instacart+
  • Use AI-powered tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Jasper, or in-house solutions) to draft, scale, and optimize content while maintaining human creativity and emotional nuance
  • Partner with Growth, Lifecycle, and Product Marketing to develop campaigns that are insight-driven, personalized, and measurable
  • Build AI prompts, templates, and workflows that generate consistent, on-brand copy at scale
  • Experiment with AI-generated variations to fuel A/B testing and creative roadmaps
  • Write with a voice that’s human, helpful, and a little playful—aligned to our brand personality and customer mindset
  • Transform strategic briefs and test hypotheses into compelling content that drives action and deepens customer loyalty
  • Contribute to messaging frameworks, experimentation roadmaps, and creative testing plans
  • Ensure copy—whether AI-assisted or human-written—is consistent, inclusive, and meets legal/compliance standards
  • Share learnings and help evolve our team’s AI content playbook over time
