Job Summary:

Under the direction of the WF&S Manager, the Forklift Operator will be responsible for packing and moving products for shipping to clients in a timely manner. The Operator also verifies purchased products, places received material into proper warehouse storage location and will relocate and consolidate material as required. The Forklift Operator works closely with other internal departments to organize, locate and relocate the material stored in the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with material handling equipment to designated areas in the plant.

  2. Read client orders and shipping orders to determine items to select for shipment or delivery.

  3. Pull, pack, weigh and label materials, assemble stock onto pallets, warehouse trucks and shelves.

  4. Assemble and disassemble bins, racks, and shelves as required.

  5. Maintain the warehouse to ensure it is safe and accessible for employees.

  6. Perform racking inspections when appropriate.

  7. Inspect the condition of returned material.

  8. Establish and maintain positive relations with the Company’s clients and suppliers by providing courteous, efficient and professional delivery service in a safe and timely manner.

  9. Comprehend the safe handling and loading of material to avoid either personal injury or damage to product or equipment. 

  10. Maintain safe driving practices when using the forklift.

  11. Follow systems and procedures outlined by the Company.

  12. Comply with policies and safety procedures including all OHSA safety requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. High school diploma.
  2. Previous experience in a Warehouse/fulfillment role.
  3. Forklift certification is required; must be able to operate Counterbalance forklift at minimum; Reach Truck experience is considered an asset.
  4. Able to read, interpret and analyze documents
  5. Strong attention to detail and effective organization skills.
  6. Basic computer skills.
  7. Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. Make suggestions on how to organize warehouse material to make the process more efficient.
  8. Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  9. Able to work independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision. Self-directed and able to prioritize work and juggle multiple priorities.
  10. Ability to be resourceful and adapt easily to changing priorities and circumstances. 
  11. Good interpersonal skills and a mature, responsible attitude.
