Who you are
- This role requires a strong understanding of B2B SaaS and payment processing, capable of performing advanced data transformations in SQL and Python
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive, inquisitive self-starter who can take data through the entire data lifecycle, from collection and analysis to presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- You have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Quantitative field (Statistics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience
- You can perform advanced data transformations in SQL and Excel
- You are experienced using a BI or visualization software (ex. Tableau, Looker, Domo, etc.)
- You are experienced in transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data in Python
- 4+ years experience in banking, payment processing, or other finance technology
- 2+ Experience in B2B SaaS software or other subscription-based businesses
- You are a team player with a positive and can-do attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, inquisitive, self-starter, energetic and striving in a fast-moving environment
- You have strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to present data and its implications in a clear, concise manner; balancing technical and business perspectives
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation
- This position is preferably based in Austin, Texas
What the job involves
- The Data Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a strong quantitative background to drive financial and operational insights to support FP&A, Accounting, and Partnerships
- Perform ad hoc analysis to determine underlying trends and causes that are impacting transaction volume across the AffiniPay ecosystem
- Work with Data Engineering and Finance to automate subscription and payment processing data transformations
- Work with Finance and Accounting to determine root cause for changes in payment margins, ARR, and other financial metrics
- Manage all steps of the data lifecycle (Collection, measurement, analysis, interpretation, presentation), provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and be able to present findings to stakeholders along with recommendations supported by rigorous analysis and statistics
- Translate and summarize data into formats that help stakeholders make decisions quickly
- Develop rich, interactive visualizations to help stakeholders understand their area of the business and make data-driven decisions
- Work with Finance & Partnerships to calculate royalties for AffiniPay’s partner and affinity network
- Analyze historical data, define best practices, and identify opportunities for optimization
- Gather Data from Internal and External Sources as needed to provide the full view of problems or opportunities
- Explore the data and discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends
- Handle multiple projects and meet deliverables
