The Intern, Procurement [Fall 2026] supports the team with day‑to‑day purchasing activities, helping ensure orders align with approved contracts. This role responds to inquiries about outstanding requests and orders, and keeps procurement records accurate and up to date across internal systems.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in completing an 8‑month or 12‑month internship as part of this opportunity.
As an Intern, Procurement [Fall 2026] some of your responsibilities may include:
- Attend and actively participate in meetings
- Have a continuous improvement mindset, not afraid to identify and take action where opportunities exist
- Maintain contracts database, keeping information up to date and accurate
- Take a proactive approach to duties and responsibilities, and provide suggestions for improvement to procurement process efficiency and effectiveness
- Assist and educate requisitioners with procurement processes and procedures
- Assist in obtaining contract signatures through DocuSign
- Assist in reviewing and filing agreements and MSAs into contract management database; ensuring completeness
- Convert Purchase Requisitions(PR) to Purchase Orders(PO) after ensuring full PR approval
- Issue PO to vendor and obtain PO confirmation from the vendor
- Provide other support and facilitation as required
- Weekly reconciliation and expedition of open PO orders, including status updates to requestor
- Work with vendor to track asset status

- Currently pursuing a post‑secondary degree, professional certification, or equivalent experience
- Previous administrative experience in an accounting, legal, or IT professional services firm is an asset
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
- High integrity, accountability, and a commitment to excellence
- Effective organization, prioritization, and multi‑tasking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a “client‑first” mindset
At Doane Grant Thornton, we believe compensation should reflect more than just market data—it should reflect you. We’re serious about compensation. We benchmark regularly across a wide spectrum of roles, industries, sectors, and levels to ensure our ranges are both competitive and current. But we don’t stop there. We also consider the unique strengths, experiences, and impact each individual brings to the table. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary for this role is $50,000 per year in Toronto. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
