About the role

Job Title: Vice President, Marketing & Investor Relations

Job Summary

This pivotal role leads the dual functions of Corporate Marketing and Investor Relations. Heads up three separate work teams including IR, Marketing Communications and Marketing Systems/Analytics by providing department vision, direction and guidance. This individual plays a critical role in shaping the company’s external communications in terms of messaging strategy, creation of collateral materials and industry event participation.

Responsibilities

Investor Relations

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations strategy
  • Speak at conferences and 1x1 investor meetings alongside key members of the senior executive to effectively communicate the company’s vision, strategy, and financial performance to investors, analysts, and key stakeholders
  • Lead the preparation of quarterly earnings calls, investor presentations, annual reports, and other financial disclosures.
  • Working with the legal department, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of transparency and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors and analysts, acting as the primary point of contact for the investment community inquiries
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, investor sentiment, and peer performance relative to the company.
  • Prepare presentations for both the executive team and the company Board of Directors insights and strategic recommendations
  • Liase between key shareholders and the Board on matters of concerns related to corporate governance.
  • Organize and lead investor meetings, non-deal roadshows, investor conferences, Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other events to engage with investors
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including corporate finance, legal, marketing, and corporate development to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across the organization.
  • Draft conference call scripts, press releases and anticipate FAQs
  • Prepare Peer Analysis summaries of key financial metrics including valuations, trading multiples, ROIC, Profit and Leverage, etc. Lead and develop the Investor Relations team to increase bench strength within the corporate IR function

Marketing

  • Liase with senior executives, sales, engineering and operations leadership on a global scale to execute marketing & communications objectives
  • Lead the Marketing Communications team to manage external communications content via the corporate website, social media, video, presentations, brochures and global tradeshow / event programing
  • Field inquires and maintains relationships with industry, national, and international media outlets to amplify the company’s story
  • Liase with sales and engineering leadership to ensure the company’s customer communications are effective and aligned globally relative to sales growth goals
  • Lead the Marketing Systems & Analytics team to ensure that required global business intelligence (BI) matters are researched, analyzed, and summarized for use by the company’s Board, executive, sales & operations leadership
  • Develop strategy for certain software data and BI systems including Customer Quoting Management, balanced score card internal performance management system (known as the Stepping Stool)
  • Ensures department work product deliverables are met such as key monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to sales segmentation analysis, market unit performance, market share summaries and competitive intelligence Maintains information flow to a variety of stakeholders to provide effective and timely market data.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA, CPA or CFA designation is an asset. Minimum of 5 years of experience in in-house investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, or a related field.

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • 10 years minimum experience in the automotive, off-highway or similar industrial equipment industries
  • Solid understanding of financial matters, accounting principles and global macro economic matters
  • Strong communication abilities including verbal, written, and presentations skills. Ability to create compelling narrative related to market opportunities and company advantages
  • Ability to think thoughtfully and strategically in response to queries on company performance, market dynamics, product and process technologies, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in developing team members to succeed in a high-performance, fast-paced business environment
  • Understanding of capital markets systems and online resources such as Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, Nasdaq or similar
  • Experience with Merger and Acquisition market transactions including articulating strategic rationale, synergies, and post-deal integration actions
  • High level of confidence in dealing with media and government from a Public Relations perspective
  • Experience with reading and manipulating financial models, financial statements, and conducting related financial ratio/trend analysis
  • Approximately 10% - 15% travel is required including some international.
  • This is a 100% in-office position in Guelph, ON.
