About the role

Key position functions include:

  • Support Research and Development (R&D) and Engineering by performing lab test procedures and examinations to aid in development of new and existing products.
  • Ensure Stream-Flo products are tested accurately to the highest standards and are in compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Design, set up, and execute lab tests and experiments as defined by test procedures.
  • Create, prepare, and review R&D test procedures and reports.
  • Perform diverse engineering activities involving testing design and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and modify drawings.
  • Assist with the redesigning of various product lines for cost effectiveness and improved performance.
  • Support project personnel for specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specification and technical plans and product testing.
  • Provide the necessary calculations required on test fixture design.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or technical institute.
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in R&D lab environment an asset.
  • Membership with APEGA or ASET or eligible to get membership
  • Knowledge of valves and wellhead equipment an asset.
  • Proficient with and experienced in the use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance.
  • LabView programming and/or laboratory instrumentation experience would be an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Familiarity with standard hand and measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficient in writing technical reports and documents.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously with the capacity to work independently and as part of team, coupled with the ability to plan and perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
