We are MARZ, an AI-enabled VFX company on a mission to democratize VFX.

We make producing premium TV fast and easy, using a combination of proprietary AI software, TV-specific production operations, GPU clusters and world-class talent spanning diverse industries.

We launched in 2018, and have had the privilege of working on over 100 premium TV projects to date, such as Moon Knight (Marvel), The Umbrella Academy S3 (Netflix), WandaVision (Marvel), Ms. Marvel (Marvel), The Flight Attendant (HBO Max), Invasion (Apple TV+), Wednesday (Netflix), Carnival Row (Amazon Prime Video), Spiderman: No Way Home (Marvel), Being the Ricardo’s (Amazon Prime Video) and many more!

Who we need

We are looking to add a talented Senior/Lead Prep Artists to our dynamic, growing, and passionate Compositing team, and we are open for this person to work remotely. This is a contract role that reports directly to the Compositing Supervisor, and responsibilities will include:

  • Review and provide creative and technical feedback to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Deliver senior level paint tasks (dependent on level) within the deadline
  • Experience in beauty & de-age work.
  • Face marker removal, wrinkle removal/makeup prosthetic fixes.
  • Experience in Marker, wire and complex rig removal, artifact clean-up, and bg. Plate restoration.
  • Ability to composite procedures such as grading, wrapping, morphing, and distortion.
  • Ability to use a combination of techniques when dealing with tricky wire removals and clean plates.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team, or independently, to complete assigned shots
  • Troubleshoot technical and creative challenges and provide solutions.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility of the shot. Proactively offers options and finds own solutions for production problems.

What you bring

We are looking for Senior level Roto/Prep Artists who would be interested in taking up a Lead's position. There are the expected experience and skills:

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a VFX studio environment.
  • Evidence of experience in working in a photo-real or VFX for feature films and TV
  • Expert knowledge of various Prep tasks as well as the beauty and de-age tasks
  • Must be able to work under the guidance of a Compositing Supervisor and/or VFX Supervisor to achieve the desired level of aesthetic quality and technical accuracy;
  • Keep awareness of schedule and deadlines to deliver work within expected timelines;
  • Positive team player;

What happens next

After we receive your application (resume and demo reel), it will be reviewed by the Talent Acquisition team and the Hiring Manager. We will then invite successful candidates to a Technical Interview (~60 mins) with the Hiring Manager. All interviews are conducted via Google Meet.
