Primary Purpose of Position:
Vic Priestly Contracting Ltd. (VPCL) is looking for a skilled and experienced 310T Truck & Trailer Mechanic to become a key part of our dedicated maintenance team. Based in our fully equipped Truck & Trailer Mechanic Shop, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered tractors and semi-trailers. Job Duties

Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs.

Perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
-
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer's specifications.
-
Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
-
Installation of new and added-on equipment.
-
Conduct first, second and third line repairs, modifications on vehicles.
-
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate.
-
Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.
-
Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic failures by visually inspecting, listening to input, test driving, and using diagnostic tools.
-
Completing a “Quick-check” to determine the need for other unrelated repairs and advising manager of potential future issues.
-
Notifying appropriate personnel of any additional repairs needed.
-
Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.
-
Completing repairs or replacing defective parts, components or systems as required.
-
Accurate completion of work orders and time cards on paper or electronically. (Tablet)
-
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that repairs are completed to manufacturer specifications and government standards.

Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
-
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.

Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.

Other mechanical repair work as required.

• License Technician 310T.
• 3+ years of experience in the Medium / Heavy Duty truck or automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of product and technical knowledge.
• Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to vehicle safety.
• Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must conduct his / her self in a professional manner.
• Have the ability to work other shifts for coverage of sick days or vacation relief.
• Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations.
• Lead, guide and mentor apprentices in the shop.
• Have a set of heavy duty mechanic tools.
Work Conditions
• 24/7 availability may be required.
• Travel to off-site locations may be required.
