This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This role requires a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse who is eligible to work in Canada that meets the Essential Qualifications.
This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Your role
Reporting to the Manager of Quality & Risk Management, this position is responsible for supporting quality assurance, control, and improvement in the provision of care to residents and clients.

Essential qualifications

- Current registration with a Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nurse regulatory authority and eligible for registration/licensing in the Yukon.
- Demonstrated experience leading or implementing a change in practice or quality initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience of quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement in a health care setting.
- Considerable experience compiling, interpreting, and presenting data.
- Experience creating and providing training including coaching and mentoring.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
If selected for an interview, candidates should have, and may be assessed on, the following:

Strong critical thinking skills rooted in clinical nursing standards, best practices, and scopes of practice to identify areas for improvement

Knowledgeable in quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement processes

Focused expertise on medication safety

Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of personal care for residents and clients

Strong leadership skills

Strong organizational and project management skills

Excellent interpersonal, conflict management skills

Ability to manage conflicting, multiple, and unpredictable demands and frequent interruptions

Strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to write clear, concise documents on complex issues, and the ability to share and disseminate information effectively

Analytical and critical thinking skills including.
