The Maintainer (UTT) works under the direction of Field Services Coordinator performing Tree Trimming duties in accordance with ENMAX Vegetation Management Program.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the Province of Alberta, ENMAX Corporation, A.E.U.C. (Alberta Electrical Utility Code) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations
- Ensure proper care and use of vehicles, equipment and work sites
- Working under the general supervision of the Field Services Coordinator (PLT) and Leadhand PLT, the Maintainer (UTT) will work with a small crew when engaged in reactive tree trimming and electrical maintenance and possibly alone when duties require
- Participate in the establishment of safety policies and work procedures.
- Demonstrates a commitment to obtaining Civil modules level 1A—including Utility Electrical Awareness, Power Equipment Identification, and Cable Utility Identification—or an equivalent certification, as required
- In the absence of work specific to the reactive Tree Trimming) role, the employee will be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Utility Worker as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be a certified Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT) as designated by the Professional Vegetation Management Association (PVMA Alberta) or Utility Arborist (UA) from Ontario or British Columbia or previously held a UTT or UA with the ability to renew prior to start date
- Must be a certified Arborist as recognized by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)
- Must have a proven safety record and thorough knowledge of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Practices (SWPs)
- Must have a valid Province of Alberta driver’s license, Class 3 with Q endorsement upgrade as required
- Must be willing to upgrade qualifications as required

Salary: As outlined in the IBEW Collective Agreement (2025 Collective Agreement rates) $49.07 per hour
Shift: Regular Days: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (Shift may change due to operational need)
Location: Field Services Depot (2020 Center Ave NE Calgary)
