About the role
We are seeking a results-driven, customer-centric leader with a proven track record in asset management. This individual should continuously seek solutions to enhance the customer experience while supporting the company's strategic direction from a fiscally responsible perspective.
Reporting to VP Design, Construction and Asset Management, this position leads the retail asset management teams working with senior business leaders and project stakeholders ensuring that our stores are well maintained.
What you’ll do:
Team Leadership & Communication:
- Nationally lead the asset management team with oversight and accountability for delivery on all maintenance activities; maintaining structure; and following a consistent delivery process.
- Facilitate effective communication between all stakeholders including senior leaders, Dealers, project team leads, consultants, vendors, contractors, landlords, security and other stakeholders as required.
- Coaching and mentoring direct reports.
- Meets frequently with Dealers and business leaders that the maintenance manual is being adhered to.
- First point of escalation for all issues for business stakeholders.
Financial Management:
- Make recommendations to VP with respect to priorities for capital investment projects and budgeting recommendations for sustaining capital and reactive maintenance.
- Financial management of the asset management team, including budget control comply with CTC policies and procedures.
- Oversees management information systems to maintain budget control.
- Prepare and present financial reports for senior management review.
- Make recommendations to VP all value engineering initiatives to deliver best service whilst economically viable.
Project Management:
- Directs all major capital projects, including architect and engineer selection, drafting of instructions to consultants, preparation of tenders, approval of all design phases, management of tender calls, financial & contract management, and general monitoring of all phases of construction.
- Oversees building maintenance inspection process is followed, including timelines are adhered for all deficiency rectification work.
- Liaises with CT REIT for all asset management work to be managed and completed on behalf of CT REIT.
Process Improvement:
- Working with Vice President and Dealer representatives, lead a process improvement process to improve the operations of the team.
What you bring:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in asset management.
- 5 years’ leadership/management experience with a strong propensity for team building, coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Capacity to make quick decisions with limited information.
- Tactical and operational planning skills combined with a hands-on approach.
- Experience in building, motivating, developing, and retaining teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and execution skills.
- Strong governance and risk management acumen.
