This role can be based in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, with only one successful candidate being selected.
P&H Grain
The P&H Grain Division is a comprehensive grain and crop input network, operating across approximately 45 locations in the prairie provinces, Ontario and Quebec. Our strategically positioned facilities, including grain elevators, rail sidings, inland terminals, and specialized export terminals, ensure that we effectively match producer grain with the needs of both domestic and export end users. As a full-service agri-retailer, we provide farming communities with a full range of quality crop input products and agronomic solutions, encompassing crop protection products, certified seeds, nutrients, and custom applications.

Your Role
As a Crop Inputs Merchant, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the merchandising strategy for crop protection and seed products.
Day to Day
- Lead the development and communication of a strategic plan for the crop protection and seed products business
- Provide indirect leadership to Crop Inputs Managers and Crop Input Service Representatives to support professional development, customer relationships, and sales growth
- Oversee the planning and forecasting function with Crop Input Managers to ensure timely and accurate plans
- Build and maintain supplier relationships and distribution channels
- Set pricing strategies for crop protection and seed products across locations
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop programs and effectively communicate execution plans to sales teams
- Coordinate logistics and distribution activities, including trucking, warehousing, and product storage, to ensure seasonal availability and off‑season efficiency
- Allocate products to the appropriate locations ensuring optimal sales targets are met
- Foster team alignment by clearly communicating organizational goals and priorities
Qualifications
- At least four (4) years’ experience in the agricultural field, specifically in crop inputs
- Experience in planning logistics and managing inventory is an asset
- Post-secondary education in a related field such as AgriBusiness or Business Administration is an asset
- Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) or Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) designation (or the ability to obtain) is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of crop protection products and agronomy
- Demonstrated customer service, sales, and negotiation skills, with strong relationship-building and collaboration abilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence decisions confidentially and strategically
- Ability to maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, regulatory requirements, and industry developments related to chemicals and seeds
- Must be able to travel
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Application Suite
