Gastops is seeking a Supply Chain Technician to join our Operations team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The purpose of this role is to coordinate the procurement, receiving, inventory management, and shipping of goods and services to support our laboratory operations. This position will also be responsible for assembling and shipping laboratory sample kits to customers on a daily basis.

What You’ll Do The position of Supply Chain Technician will report directly to the Lab Supervisor and be located at our office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia at 109 Williams Ave, Unit #10 in the Burnside Industrial Park. This facility provides component Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services and condition monitoring solutions to commercial and military aircraft and other high-value assets in Canada and across the world. The facility and its operations are ISO 9001:2015 and Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certified.

As a member of the Service Centre team, the Supply Chain Technician will have a primary focus on providing procurement and logistics support to our oil analysis laboratory. Specific duties will include:

  • Generate and submit purchase orders for parts, chemicals, services, etc. as required to support lab operations
  • Participate in vendor setup, qualification, and management
  • Track purchase order status and follow up with vendors as required to ensure on time delivery or expedite orders as required
  • Inspect and receive incoming shipments in accordance with established quality assurance procedures. Flag any issues and coordinate returns or vendor corrective actions as required
  • Arrange inbound and outbound shipments with a variety of logistics companies, including freight, international, expedited, and air shipments
  • Complete all relevant shipping paperwork including waybills, customs declarations, Dangerous Goods forms, etc. as required to ensure timely processing and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels and accuracy in accordance with established methods and stock targets. Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy
  • Complete all inventory-related transactions in company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software tools
  • Assemble laboratory sample kits in accordance with defined Bills of Materials and work instructions, ensuring a high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Process incoming orders for sample kits and ship kits to customers around the world, adhering to tight timelines and ensuring on time delivery of all orders
  • Safely handle and store chemicals, compressed gas cylinders, and other laboratory materials in accordance with SDS sheets and other requirements.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

What you should bring:

  • Relevant technical diploma/degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in procurement, inventory management, and/or logistics.
  • Experience with assembly/manufacturing is an asset.
  • Experience in a laboratory, defense, or aerospace setting is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with ERP and/or other systems used to process order and manage inventory
  • Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with established processes.
  • Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance and Controlled Goods)
