Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar components in a shop environment. This position will have a focus on Power Systems and components, including projects on well servicing engines, transmissions and gas compression engines. The successful candidate will work a 5x2 shift and report to our Red Deer facility.
Location: Red Deer
Shift: Monday to Friday 5x2
Wage: $50.79 - $56.44

Job Description:
- Using the technical expertise in this role to inspect parts for re-usability, dismantle equipment, repair or rebuild components, attachments, etc., based on anticipated potential market demand
- Various power systems-related work including repairs/rebuilds on well servicing engines, transmissions and gas compression engines
Qualifications:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic certification required
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
- An entrepreneurial business spirit to work with the mgmt. & sales team to identify and priorities work that will lead to greater sales and/or profit is an asset in this role
Note:
- This position operates on a 5x2 schedule, based out of our Red Deer facility
- Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement**
