Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Team Lead, Housing Programs and Support, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of property management services for directly managed buildings, and affordable housing portfolio in the region for Calgary Housing. Primary duties include:

  • Oversee operational and budgetary requirements of the designated portfolio and ensure timely preparation of, and adherence to quarterly budgets and revenue.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate review of performance measures and targets within the designated portfolio.
  • Review, approve and assign transfers of tenants into other properties.
  • Ensure the Housing Program and Support team work cooperatively and collaboratively to maintain positive relationships with tenants and internal and external partners.
  • Lead the development, approval and implementation of new policies for staff; ensure compliance with policies, Customer Service Standards and all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Asset Management Division and Senior Site Managers on property, maintenance, security and building envelope needs and issues.
  • Work with the Real Estate & Portfolio Management Division to achieve portfolio objectives and act as a Subject Matter Expert on portfolio recommendations.
  • Supervise direct reports including hiring, training, performance development planning, review and monitoring of work plans and deliverables, coaching for development of employees, and succession planning.
  • Develop targeted training plans for employees and an annual training plan to achieve CH¿s vision for the Customer Experience division.
  • Represent CH at various meetings and community events such as regional committee meetings or meetings with the Calgary Police Service and other partner agencies where emerging issues related to housing are discussed.
  • Act as the point of contact for resident escalations and grievances leading the investigation process and identify corrective actions. For example: policy development, staff coaching, mediation.
  • Participate or lead special projects within the Customer Experience division or cross-divisionally to achieve organizational and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

  • A completed 2 year diploma in Public Housing or a related certificate and at least 10 years of Housing experience, which includes at least 5 years of experience supervising staff, OR;
  • A degree in Human Services or Business Administration and at least 8 years of Housing experience, which includes at least 3 years of experience supervising staff.
  • An Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) or Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation will be an asset.
  • Experience with Yardi software will be an asset.
  • Well-developed communication, leadership, facilitation and engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
  • The ability to manage multiple, constantly shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions: This position works in an office environment with visits to Calgary Housing sites as needs arise.
