About the role
We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. Please note, this role requires rotational, on-call support.
Role Overview In this role, you will provide essential technical support for critical banking systems, ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and seamless user experiences. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, and contribute to system enhancements, documentation, and deployment activities—all while supporting 24/7 operations for our core banking platforms.
About The Day-to-day
- Provide hands-on technical support for business-critical banking systems, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Perform system analysis, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Monitor application performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and third-party technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, process flows, and system configuration details.
- Participate in technical testing and deployment activities, including coordination of user acceptance testing (UAT) and production releases.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide support to end-users to maximize their understanding and utilization of implemented solutions.
- Provide 24/7 support (pager) to our critical lines of business to ensure Core Banking meets their SLA of application up time.
About The Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of IT experience, ideally in application and production support within a financial institution.
- Strong technical skills with enterprise banking systems.
- Solid grasp of SDLC and ITSM best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work independently and in teams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred certifications: ITIL, Agile, or related.
- Experience with SQL, scripting, or BI tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS CLI, SaaS/PaaS models (AWS & Azure) is an asset.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence for change and incident management is highly recommended.
- Knowledge of Canadian financial regulatory and security standards.

Compensation Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $70,000 and $80,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
