  • One term position from reporting date until November 2026; and,

Language Requirements: One bilingual imperative CBC position and one English position.

Work Arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week or a minimum of 60% of their regular work schedule at their own expense.

NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program is recruiting Program Officers to help support various programs managed by NRC IRAP. The role of the Program Officers is to support IRAP’s initiatives and program deliverables. The Program Officers should be individuals who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

As a Program Officer you will be reporting to a Program Advisor – Team Lead. You will provide advice and guidance related to specific program areas. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet IRAP’s goals to help grow and support SME in Canada.

Screening Criteria Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Candidates must respond to all pre-screening questions in order to be considered. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.

Education A University degree related to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience may be considered, such as but not limited to:

  • Economics;
  • Engineering;
  • Mathematics;
  • Computer science; or,
  • Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis.

Experience

  • Experience in conducting research and preparing reports using a variety of tools (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, etc) to support operations.
  • Experience in giving advice and making recommendations to managers on complex programming or situations.
  • Experience in developing, liaising and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and / or external stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing procedures, processes and guidance material related to the administration and operations of programs.

Assets:

  • Experience in the design and delivery of transfer payment programs.
  • Experience applying theories and principles of social sciences including economic, socio-economic, demographic and statistical research, and analysis.
  • Experience in forecasting processes and/or statistical methods.

For a Reliability Status, verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required.

Compensation From $78,167 to $91,895 per annum.

Only applicable to the bilingual CBC position: In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $ 800 per year.
