About the role
Clean Harbors in Fort McMurray, AB is seeking a Class 3 licensed Hazardous Waste Specialist (known internally as an Insite Chemist) to join their safety conscious team at the Syncrude site ! The successful candidate will be responsible for working both indoors and outdoors, completing a variety of tasks associated with lab pack projects, including tasks such as labelling, segregating, loading, and transporting drums of waste materials throughout the facility. You will ensure all projects are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Applicants must have their Class 3 to be considered. Schedule: 10 on, 10 off schedule. 12-hour workdays.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and compliant execution of lab pack projects.
- Print labels, attach to drums, segregate waste.
- Load and transport waste drums using a Class 3 truck.
- Ensure drum count is correct, and inventory conditions are shippable.
- Print required labels and attach to drums.
- Load/pack materials/waste properly and segregate for compatibility the waste material on transport vehicle.
- Operates mobile equipment as required (class 3 license)
- Understand customer specific disposal requirements.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Class 3 License is required
- Experience working in an industrial environment is highly preferred
- Hazardous Waste Management industry experience is a large asset.
- Comfortable working on a10 on and 10 off schedule.
- Forklift operating experience.
