Reporting to the Head of Global Risk AI and EDL, the Director is accountable for the strategy, design, and ongoing evolution of Global Risk’s enterprise data products and platforms. This role owns the Global Risk Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) as a data product, ensuring it delivers trusted, scalable, and decision grade data to power analytics, regulatory reporting, risk measurement, and AI driven insights across all Global Risk functions. Position Responsibilities: The incumbent owns the strategy and execution of the multi-year Global Risk EDL roadmap, partnering with Technology, the Global Data Office, and Risk leaders to deliver consistent, governed, and analytics ready data that enables effective oversight and insight across Global Risk.
- Data Product Ownership & Strategy o Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Global Risk data products, including the Enterprise Data Lake and downstream curated data assets.
o Act as Product Owner for the Risk data platform, with clear accountability for value delivery, data usability, quality, and adoption across Risk functions.
o Define and prioritize data products and capabilities based on business impact, regulatory needs, and AI enablement, balancing near term outcomes with long term architectural integrity.
o Establish clear success measures for Risk data products, including data quality, timeliness, reusability, scalability, and decision impact.
- Enterprise Data Alignment & Enablement o Set the target state architecture for Global Risk data, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while addressing domain specific risk requirements.
o Drive the design and evolution of curated, governed, analytics ready data layers that enable advanced analytics, risk measurement, and AI use cases.
o Ensure Risk data products are AI ready, supporting ML, NLP, and GenAI initiatives through high quality, well modeled, and well governed data assets.
o Make senior level trade off decisions across data modeling, ingestion patterns, tooling, and technical debt, with a focus on long term sustainability.
- Data Governance & Quality
o Be accountable for data quality, lineage, and transparency across Global Risk data products, partnering with the Data Governance on governance frameworks.
o Embed quality controls, metadata, and monitoring directly into data products rather than treating governance as a separate process.
o Ensure Risk data assets meet internal governance expectations and external regulatory and audit requirements.
o Establish and evolve the product operating model for Risk data, including how demand is shaped, prioritized, and delivered with Technology partners.
- Leadership & Executive Influence o Operate as a thought leader for Risk data and analytics, influencing senior Risk and Technology leaders on how data enables better risk decisions.
o Translate complex data and technology concepts into clear executive level narratives, enabling informed prioritization and investment decisions.
o Represent Global Risk in enterprise level data, AI, and architecture forums as the accountable owner for the Risk data domain.
o Build strong, durable partnerships across Risk, Technology, and the Data Office to ensure aligned execution and shared ownership of outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Senior level leadership experience owning enterprise scale data products and making strategic data and architecture decisions with broad organizational impact.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field
- Deep expertise in enterprise data engineering and platforms, including large scale data lakes, analytics- and/or AI ready architectures.
- Strong domain knowledge in risk management within financial services or insurance, including regulatory, governance, and risk data requirements.
- Hands on familiarity with modern data and AI ecosystems (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse, Purview, ML/OpenAI services) sufficient to set direction and challenge design choices.

- Strong analytical and technical grounding (e.g., SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL, and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau) to drive actionable insights.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align diverse teams around a common data and product vision.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and relationship building skills, with sound judgment and executive presence.
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast changing environment, adapting quickly to evolving priorities.
When you join our team:
- We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
- We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
