Position: Driver – Tractor Workplace: 17125 Lafleche Road, Moose Creek, ON K0C 1W0 Permanent position Welcome to Matrec, a division of GFL! We are a dynamic company focused on growth and security. We are looking for an energetic and motivated full-time Heavy Equipment technician to support our growing business. Summary To work in cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Operations Manager aiding in the repairs/maintenance of all aspects of the operating system at the Moose Creek compost facility to ensure optimal Plant performance. Job Duties - Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily. - Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily - Operator will steer, guide and or drive the above listed equipment at the assigned site, if the equipment is used at the particular site(s) using steering wheel, shifters, levers, buttons and pedals. - Operator will substitute for another operator if someone is absent from the work crew or as needed/required. - Operator will clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment by pulling and or cutting material away from tracks and gear mechanisms at least once daily or more if needed. - Operator will use a two-way radio to communicate with co-workers in the field and or office regarding work activities, Requirements: and priorities for the work day. - Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. - Maintain appearance of the grounds and facility. - Attend safety and branch meetings. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired, but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned. Follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Applicable Industrial Regulations, Federal, Provincial, Municipal regulations Health and Safety policies and procedures.
