About the role
A Day in the Life:
Reporting to the Material Handling Supervisor, this position is responsible for general labour duties primarily for the upkeep and maintenance of the external conditions of the plant site. This includes general cleanup, lawncare, snow clearing, painting, housekeeping, deliveries and minor maintenance activities. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is a self-starter, takes a high degree of pride in their work and contributes to the success of a team.
Position Details:
The schedule for this position is 6:30am to 3pm Monday to Friday. The starting hourly rate is $25.00
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Performing various physical duties as assigned
- Ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures and maintaining all safety standards
- Compliance with applicable Safe Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform some specialized tasks which will require on-the job training
- Safely and efficiently operating various mobile equipment such as a riding mower, forklift, skid steer, ariel work platform etc.
- Maintenance of plant grounds and perimeter areas as required which may include lawn mowing, snow clearing, fall/spring cleanup
- Maintaining condition of plant building, equipment and structures including pressure washing and painting
- Occasionally assisting maintenance and operations staff with manual tasks, fire watch, confined space watch
- Conducting minor maintenance activities that may include the use of hand/power tools
- Operation of plant truck for deliveries and supply runs
- Other general labour duties as assigned
- Providing accurate written reports on any injuries, fires, or spills
- Maintaining personal hygiene, cleanliness and appearance including the condition of Bunge provided work apparel
- Taking pride in the work that you perform and contributing to a high work standard at the facility
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Grade 12 education required
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Positive attitude, a self-starter and demonstrates pride in work completed
- Good computer / keyboard skills
- Must be able to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
